Operator Mono in use. Designed by Andy Clymer with contributions from Jordan Bell and Troy Leinster. Art direction by Jonathan Hoefler. Operator is a typewriter-inspired font. It comes in two families: A fixed-width typeface and a natural typeface. The fixed-width version, called Operator Mono. Operator Mono by Hoefler & Co. Is a surprise addition for me because it’s a commercial font with the base price being $199. I’ve been a fan of this since it was first released and I love the way it makes comments. That is what initially drew me to it and it continues to be my primary font. Hack by Chris Simpkins. The first monospace font by Hoefler & Co.: Operator Mono. Posted by 4 years ago. John Gruber:
I heard that Hoefler & Co. were working on a monospace typeface a few months ago, and the result is everything I expected: distinctive, attractive, and practical. The script face for the italics is a little wild, but why not go a little wild on the italics in a monospace typeface?
I have a few fonts which are on my favourites list. Operator Mono just pushed one of them off of it.
